I have connected my printer a Brother MFC-J6730DW and it prints OK, but the scanner is not working. I have downloaded brother drivers and apps to try and get it going, but the windows 11 software always fails to accept the download. Please help!

The Brother MFC-J6730DW printer and scanner driver named Y16B_C1-hostm-J1 for Win-11 is at that link, so try to download it from there and then install this driver, as then your scanner will work. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thanks StevenGen, I had already done that. The computer settings say the printer/scanner is connected but the printer says the PC can't be located when requested to scan. It prints fine.

Consult the Brother Tech Support site for this printer/scanner problems and see their troubleshooting guides as this is not an Acer product issue, its a Brother compatibility issue. Good luck.

If the printer prints but the scanner on your Acer Swift Go 14 isn't working, it's likely a driver or software issue. Try updating or reinstalling the printer/scanner drivers, checking the scanner's default settings, and ensuring the printer spooler service is running.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Connections and Power:
Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your Acer Swift Go 14 via USB or Wi-Fi.
If using a wired connection, verify the USB cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer.
If using a wireless connection, ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
    2. Update or Reinstall Drivers:
Outdated or corrupted drivers are a common cause of scanner problems.
Visit the printer manufacturer's website (e.g., Brother, HP, Canon) to download the latest drivers for your specific printer model and operating system.
Uninstall the existing printer/scanner drivers from your system before installing the updated ones.
    Steps to uninstall:
Open the Device Manager (search for it in the Windows search bar).
    Expand "Printers" or "Print queues".
Right-click on your printer and select "Uninstall device".

    Steps to reinstall:
Download the appropriate drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. Check Printer Spooler Service:
The printer spooler service manages print jobs and can affect scanning as well.
    Steps to check:
Open the Services app (search for it in the Windows search bar).
    Locate "Print Spooler".
Right-click on it and select "Properties".
Ensure the "Startup type" is set to "Automatic".
If the service is not running, click "Start".
    4. Verify Scanner as Default:
In some cases, the scanner might not be set as the default device.
Steps to check: Open "Settings" and go to "Devices" > "Printers & scanners".
    Select your printer/scanner.
Click on "Manage" and then "Set as default" (or similar wording depending on your Windows version).
