The Acer Aspire 3 A314-41-983D supports M.2 SATA SSDs (2280 form factor) and 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs. It does not support NVMe SSDs, as the M.2 slot is wired for SATA only. A good M.2 SATA SSD would be Samsung 860 EVO up to 2TB while for the 2.5" HDD bay you can install a Samsung 970 EVO V-NAND up to 2TB.

The Acer Aspire 3 A314-41-983D supports a 2.5-inch SATA SSD and may also include a M.2 SATA slot, but not NVMe. If you're upgrading, choose a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or a M.2 SATA SSD—just avoid M.2 NVMe drives, as they aren't compatible with this mode

The Acer Aspire 3 laptop uses both M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs and 2.5" SATA SSDs for storage upgrades. The specific type and size of SSD that can be used depends on the specific model of the Acer Aspire 3, as some have both an M.2 slot and a 2.5" drive bay. Some models support PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe SSDs, while others may only support PCIe Gen 3 x2.

    Types of SSDs:
    M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs:
These offer faster speeds and are typically used for the operating system and frequently accessed applications.
    2.5" SATA SSDs:
These are a more common type of SSD and can be used as a secondary storage drive or to replace a traditional hard drive.
    Considerations for Upgrading:
    Model Specifics:
Check the specific model of your Acer Aspire 3 to determine which types of SSDs are compatible and what the maximum supported capacity is.
    Speed:
If your laptop supports NVMe, consider using an NVMe SSD for faster performance.

    Capacity:
Determine how much storage space you need and choose an SSD with an appropriate capacity.
To find the best SSD for your Acer Aspire 3, it's recommended to:
Identify your specific Acer Aspire 3 model number: (e.g., A315-56, A314-22).
Check the Acer support website or community forums: for information on compatible SSDs for your model.
Consult resources like Crucial or Kingston Technology: for compatible upgrades.
Consider your budget and storage needs: when choosing between different SSD brands and capacities.
