Microsoft & McAfee subscription gone after formatting Nitro. How can I reactivate my subscriptions?

Hello, I recently formatted my Acer laptop, and after doing so, I noticed that my Microsoft Premium and McAfee Premium subscriptions are no longer active or recognized on the device. Could you please help me understand why this happened and how I can restore or reactivate my subscriptions? I want to make sure I don’t lose my purchased licenses or subscription benefits after formatting. Are there specific steps I need to follow to recover or reactivate these services on my laptop?

Thank you.

    When you buy the device, you are delivered a licensed device that is configured as installed. We have no idea how the license system inside is set up, but the following may happen;

    • A license that was lost after formatting your device may have been defined,
    • It may be defined as active usage again by returning to recovery mode,
    • Temporary licenses, etc.
    • It may have been delivered to the customer in a box,
    • A license may have been assigned to your e-mail address, etc.

After completely formatting the device, both recovery mode and normal licenses will be gone. Because they are all created and defined for a separate partition. Below is an example of a recovery and installed disk partition table.

Since you have lost access to these, if you do not have a license key, download link, box, guide, etc. assigned to you, you can do the following.

    • Install the same version and structure of Windows before formatting, it will be automatically activated.
    • Install the antivirus version before formatting in the same way. There must be an e-mail address or key defined for you, if not, it is factory assigned, you can no longer access it!
    • If you connected your e-mail account for the Office product before formatting, install the same version again and try it and log in, it will be automatically activated. If it is not activated, you cannot access it because it is a temporary license or factory defined!

The biggest reason why the problems are not solvedis if someone who says there is a problem with the GPU says; If I change the case, will the problem be solved? That's the whole point! The concepts are different! We should not go off topic.

Hi, I don't recommend using 3rd-party anti-virus programs like Norton and MacAfee, these programs can cause errors, false alarms and may block programs and files from downloading (Firewall). Uninstall these two with the special uninstallers you can download from their websites, Windows uninstaller won't be able to completely remove the programs. Use Windows Defender with all the security features ticked green (see picture)

After formatting your laptop, you'll need to reactivate your Microsoft and McAfee subscriptions. For Microsoft, this typically involves signing in with your Microsoft account. For McAfee, you may need to reinstall the software and sign in with your account details, or potentially use an activation code if you have one.

    Reactivating Microsoft Subscriptions:
    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account:
Open any Microsoft application (like Word, Excel, etc.) or go to the Microsoft website and sign in with the email address associated with your subscription.
    2. Check your subscription status:
Verify that your subscription is active within your Microsoft account settings or within the application you're using.
    3. If needed, download and install:
If your subscription was bundled with the laptop, you might need to download and install the applications again. You can find your purchases and downloads within your Microsoft account.

    Reactivating McAfee Subscriptions:
    1. Reinstall McAfee:
If your McAfee subscription was bundled with the laptop, you might need to reinstall the software from the manufacturer's website or by downloading it from the McAfee site.
    2. Sign in or activate:
After installation, sign in to your McAfee account using your registered email and password, or use an activation code if you have one.
    3. Check your subscription status:
Confirm your subscription is active within the McAfee application or through your McAfee account online.
    Additional Tips:
    Contact support:
If you encounter issues or need further assistance, contact Microsoft or McAfee support directly.
    Check your email:
Review any emails related to your subscriptions for activation codes or instructions.
