so i bought this monitor because my old one was partially broken, it was all good until i discovered i cannot switch the frequency to 144hz, i tried everything literally, from updating Vbios of gpu, to installing a fresh version of windows, nothing works, the new windows kinda fixed the success rate of connecting straight away without restarting over and over. I tested the cable with another 144hz monitor, works perfectly fine at 144hz, i thought it was the monitor so i tried it with a workstation pc, and it worked perfectly with no stutters during boot and 144hz, 180hz worked. So idk if its my gpu or monitor . These two dont seem to be wanting to connect. A couple days ago the pc booted and it worked at 100hz but not 144, but that was only a one time thing, now when it works its capped at 85hz and anything above that gives no signal. The gpu is an old 1060 3gb card, im planning to replace it but im afraid the new one will do the same thing.

What laptop or desktop model are you using with the Acer XB241H monitor, also what gpu model are you using?

As the Acer XB241H monitor should work if you use the monitors DP port to your laptop miniDP or full DP (whichever it has or if it has a TBT4 USB-C port) or a desktop DP port, which you will get the 144Hz refresher rate at 1920x1080 resolution, if you use the monitors HDMI port to the laptop or desktops HDMI port, the refresher rate is limited to 60Hz at 1920 x 1080 resolution, as that is the monitors specs,, see below. good luck and hope this helps you out.

im using a built gaming desktop, with a gtx 1060 3gb, the problem is when i plug it to my gaming pc its capped at 85 hz, but when i plug the same monitor with the same cable to another pc i get 144hz. Im suspecting the dp ports on my gpu but idk really because the same gpu works well with another msi monitor on dp. So the signal between the acer and my gpu is not going through correctly ig
