Hi, unfortunately, the Acer Extensa EX215-23-R2MB does not support RAM upgrades. It comes with LPDDR5 memory that is soldered directly to the motherboard,

Your Acer Extensa EX215-23-R2MB has LPDDR5 RAM, which is soldered to the motherboard, meaning it cannot be upgraded. There are no additional slots for expansion, as the laptop comes with either 8GB or 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, which is a Ball Grid Array (BGA) type and can only be soldered

Yes, you can likely upgrade the Acer Extensa EX215-23-R2MB to 16GB of RAM. The model is designed to be upgradeable, and 16GB is a common supported maximum. However, it's recommended to check your specific laptop's specifications to confirm compatibility with RAM type and speed.

    Here's a more detailed explanation:-
    1. Confirm Maximum RAM Capacity:
While 16GB is a common upgrade path, it's best to verify the exact specifications for your model. You can find this information in the laptop's manual, on the Acer website, or by searching online using your laptop's model number (EX215-23-R2MB).
    2. Check for Existing RAM:
The laptop may already have some RAM installed. If it has a single 8GB stick, you can likely add another 8GB module to reach the 16GB total. If it has 2 x 4GB, you'll need to replace both to get to 16GB.
    3. RAM Type and Speed:
Ensure the new RAM module is compatible with the type (DDR4, etc.) and speed (MHz) supported by your laptop's motherboard.
    4. Installation:
Upgrading RAM is generally a straightforward process, but be cautious when opening the laptop's case. It's advisable to ground yourself to prevent static discharge and consult online resources or videos for your specific model.
    5. Consider Professional Help:
If you're uncomfortable with the upgrade process, or if your laptop is still under warranty, consider seeking assistance from a professional technician or Acer support.

By following these steps, you can successfully upgrade your Acer Extensa EX215-23-R2MB to 16GB of RAM, potentially improving its performance.

Ignore the first two answers, they are likely just confused as to your model. The Extensa 215-23 models have two SO-DIMM slots, and you can populate them with up to 64GB of memory. In this image, they are located under the heat shield just above and to the left of the letter A:

    Memory specs are:

Disconnect the battery before removing or adding memory to those slots, then reconnect and reassemble.
