Hello Dear Acer team

I bought an Acer Aspire ES1-431 Laptop in Norway about 9 years ago now I want to download Windows 8.1 or a Windows 10 which is compatible to this model when I search my serial number it says can't find. Now I am in Afghanistan.

What's the problem?

Waiting for your response soon.

Hi Acer Support for this 2015 model has been discontinued and Microsoft no longer supports W8.1 while W10 support will stop next month, you can still find most drivers and BIOS on this site Acer Aspire ES1-431 Notebooks & Tablet PCs > Downloads Drivers, Manual and BIOS
but Windows10 you will have to install with an ISO file downloaded from UUPdump.net, if you had OEM Windows10 on your laptop, if you had W8.1 I don't think that Microsoft will still provide a free W10 upgrade.

If your SNID (Serial Number Identification) is not being recognized on the Acer website, it means there might be an issue with the SNID itself or with the Acer website's database. For Windows 8.1, you'll likely need to purchase a recovery disk or installation media from Acer directly. For Windows 10, you can download the ISO file from Microsoft and use Rufus to create a bootable USB drive.

    Troubleshooting SNID Issues:
    Double-check the SNID:
Ensure you've entered the SNID accurately, including all characters and letters.
    Check for typos:
Sometimes, even a small typo can prevent the SNID from being recognized.
    Use the Serial Number Utility:
Acer provides a serial number detection utility that can help identify the correct SNID.
    Check the Acer Support Website:
Ensure you're accessing the correct Acer support website for your region and device.
    Contact Acer Support:
If the issue persists, contact Acer support via phone, email, or web chat for assistance.
    Windows 8.1 Recovery:
    OEM media:
Acer may offer OEM media (CD-ROM or USB) for Windows 8.1. Contact them directly to inquire about availability and ordering.

    Microsoft Community:
Consider checking the Microsoft Community forums for advice and solutions related to Windows 8.1 recovery.
    Windows 10 Download and Installation:
    1. Download the ISO:
Visit the Microsoft website and download the Windows 10 ISO file for your desired version.
    2. Create a bootable USB:
Use Rufus or another similar tool to create a bootable USB drive from the ISO file.
    3. Boot from the USB:
Boot your Acer device from the USB drive to start the installation process.
    4. Follow the prompts:
Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10.
    5. Install drivers:
Windows may automatically install some drivers, but you may need to download and install specific drivers for your Acer device from the Acer website.
