I have issues whenever I turn on my laptop while connecting to my LG UP650N monitor.

The laptop will fight with the monitor for about 5 minutes (flickering) before the laptop recognizes and accepts the external monitor.

Also as the monitor provides 90 watt of power using type C port (The laptop is not responding to the monitor or can detect the monitor when connected via HDMI), the laptop will rather get its power from the monitor than the 330 watt charger that it came with. I have to unplug and plug back the 330 watt charger for the laptop to use the 330 watt charger.

Does anyone have any idea on how to resolve the issues I mentioned as my previous Lenovo Legion did not have these issues?

The best connection for your LG UP650N monitor to the new excellent Acer PHN16-73 gaming model laptop is through the monitors DP 1.4 port to the PHN16-73 laptop USB-C/TBT4 ports at the rear of the laptop. You need a PD 1.4 to a USB-C/TBT4 either adapter or twin DP to USB-C/TBT4 plugs cable, as that will give you the best high end resolution and connection to utilize the full specs of the LG UP650N monitor. So connect LG UP650N like that, with the power, connect the monitor like its shown below, as by doing these connections to the monitors and laptop, the monitor will have full power all the time without losing power like it has now. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Btw, using the LG UP650N monitor will be a downgrade to what the oem PHN16-73 screen specs are, as the PHN16-73 screen is a 2560 (RGB) ×1600, WQXGA  188PPI / CineCrystal (Glare) / 240Hz refresher rate screen.

The LG UP650N monitor has these connections and PSU specs and the way you should connect its power

Hi, try disconnecting the power cord to the external monitor. When using the HDMI port make sure the external monitor port is set for HDMI and not DP. Try another DP cable.

There may be several reasons for your laptop screen flickering: Loose or damaged cable connection: A faulty cable connecting the screen to the motherboard may cause flickering.
Outdated or incompatible drivers: If your computer’s display drivers are outdated or incompatible, it may lead to screen flickering issues.

Faulty screen or hardware: A faulty screen or internal hardware component can also cause flickering.
Overheating: Overheating the laptop can cause the screen flickering issue.
Software issues: Some software or apps may cause some problems, leading to screen flickering.
Incorrect refresh rate: An incorrect refresh rate setting may also result in a flickering screen issue.
You can start by checking your HDMI, Display-Port, or USB-C cables. Ensure that the cables are securely connected to both the monitor and the laptop.

Make sure that the cable is fully tightened and it doesn’t look or feel loose. This applies to all cable types, which can become loose for various reasons. Plug in your system to an external monitor to check if the issue reoccurs. If the problem does not occur on the external display, it may be due to a hardware issue with the laptop’s screen.

Next is to make sure that the graphic card driver is update. Outdated drivers may cause incompatibility, leading to screen flickering problems. Regularly updating drivers ensures optimal performance and a
flicker-free experience. Also to note overheating can cause hardware issues so, routinely check your laptop’s temperature to ensure it is not overheating. Make sure you clean any dust or debris from the vents and fans to improve airflow.
