Install the FxSound audio enhancer (which is free) as this software's equaliser and sound presets should filter out the audio. if not then unstill the NVidia graphics and the AMD graphics completely and reinstall the initial Acer oem provided drivers from the Acer site for your Nitro AN or ANV 16 type laptop. As doing this will fix the sound problem. Good luck.

Hi, I suspect that the Realtek audio drivers need to be reinstalled together with the AMD audio codec, Download DDU and boot to Safe Mode then uninstall all Realtek audio drivers, click on Clean and restart in DDU (see picture). Windows will either reinstall the drivers or these will show in Optional updates when you "Check for updates" in Windows.

Sound distortion in the Acer Nitro 16 speakers can be caused by various factors, including driver issues, software conflicts, or even hardware problems. If the distortion persists even with headphones, it might indicate a hardware issue requiring Acer support.
Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:-

    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Check for Software Issues:
Acer True Harmony: Try disabling Acer True Harmony in Sound Properties. It can sometimes cause distortion.
Sound Effects: Disable all sound effects in speaker properties under the Enhancement tab.
Driver Updates: Ensure your sound drivers are up to date.
Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers: If updates don't fix it, try uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers.
    2. Check for Hardware Issues:
External Speakers: If the distortion persists even when using headphones, it could indicate a hardware problem, such as a faulty speaker.
Warranty: If the issue is a hardware problem, contact Acer support or take it to a service center, especially if it's within the warranty period.
    3. Other Considerations:
Coil Whine: Sizzling or clicking sounds, especially when gaming, might be coil whine, which is normal under load. However, if it becomes excessively loud, you should contact Acer support.
Graphics Card: In some cases, graphics card issues can cause sound distortion.
Ground Loop: If you have a separate amplifier and speaker, ensure there's no ground loop.
