Hi everyone,

I'm really stupid and tried undervolting my CPU from the unlocked bios options(I changed the setting in overclock to override and applied -60mv). After which my laptop has been stuck in a bootloop, my keyboard lightning does turn on but my screen shows nothing and after 10-20 seconds it reboots and keeps going like that forever.I was hoping I could hardreset my bios, so first I tried keycombos like alt+f10, then I tried to insert a paperclip to press the button labeled "SW3" on the mobo, then I tried manually pressing the sw3 button with my hand after removing the backcover, then I tried shorting the pins that have "JCMOS1" written next to them located underneath my RAM chips using a screwdriver, after which I tried completely removing both the battery connector and CMOS connector.Nothing I mentioned has worked and my laptop is still stuck in a bootloop. I really need it for school but I don't have the money to purchase a new one right now. My warranty has expired and I've seen other users on this forum say they had to pay for a whole new mobo when they send it for repair to acer. I know I've been extremely stupid to try this on a laptop and I'm worried it's dead forever. Does anyone have an idea that I can still try? I'm attaching pictures of my mobo just incase.

Acer Services in your country can reset the system to factory default and may replace the EEPROM but that won't be a major expense. You can ask them.

Hi puraw your comment is very much appreciated. Do you happen to know how their factory reset works so that I could try it myself before looking at sending it? Same for replacing EEPROM, do you know if it's possible to DIY or does it require micro soldering? If nothing else is possible I guess I have no other choice but to send it to acer. Can you give me a rough estimate how much you'd think it costs if I have to send it to acer?

Another question I have, when shorting the JCMOS1 pins, should the laptop be powered on? I assume it doesn't but just to be sure

Can anyone tell me if this might work?

This was resolved by flashing a dump of the EEPROM using a CH341A.

Turns out Acer intentionally bricks peoples laptop when they mess with BIOS and disabled any method to unbrick it without using a hardware flash method ._.

    Good job Acer
