Hello forum, are there any suitable updated drivers for the FX-550 GPU? I tried installing adrenaline and the GPU is listed as a 500 series and crashes frequently. Would be nice to update the SM bus and APU drivers too, if possible, FX-9830P with R7 graphics, current Acer drivers are from 2017….

    The model you mentioned has an RX-550 GPU instead of an FX 550 GPU. The RX-550 Stable version for you is 23.4.3 and 23.9.2. Download one of these versions, test it and let us know from here.

    You can also get the chipset software from the same place.

    Download GPU Driver Radeon 600 | 500 | 400;

    RX 550 Driver

    Download APU Driver;

    7th Gen FX™ 9830P APU Previous Drivers

    Thanks I had used that RX550 driver before but Adrenaline didnt recognise the card. I installed it again but this time with the driver only option, and it works but in device manager rather than RX550 it lists the card as RX500 series which says to me that it hasn't installed the proper driver for this card.
    The FX 9830P installer doesn't work but I extracted the files and manually directed device manager to the folder and it installed the R7 APU driver.
    There are no reported issues in device manager but after an hour of gaming I got a BSOD with error message "system service exception".
    I previously installed the latest chipset drivers from AMD which seem to be working fine.

    Also you mentioned that the latest driver for the RX550 is 23.4.3 but the installer that you linked has installed driver version 31.0.21912.14. Unfortunately that package does not extract the files to allow for manual selection of the driver

    Ok I misunderstood what you meant about version 23.9.2 and downloaded the latest version. So I started again, cleaned the old drivers and installed the version you recommended (23.9.2) including adrenaline and that worked but it didn't install the R7 driver. So I used the latest R7 installer you linked but it is a much older version (21.5.2) and not compatible with the latest RX550 adrenaline giving me frequent blue screens when I install it and error message "The procedure entry point GetAwarenessFromDpiAwarenessContext could not be located in dynamic link library".
    Is there a way to get an R7 driver that is compatible with the 23.9.2 adrenaline? Funny enough when I use the auto detect tool from AMD with latest adrenaline it installs the R7 but not the RX550.
    Never had so much trouble trying to get graphics drivers to work!

    Don't be too hasty, go step by step. Check all possibilities. Uninstall all drivers, uninstall drivers with 3rd party software Revo Uninstal | DDU etc. programs. Then do the procedures I told you and let us know.

    I am sure it will work and it will work, I just think you are in a hurry and not careful in checking the possibilities.

    Do all the operations without any errors, don't use the latest software of the drivers you mentioned, install the old versions 3 or 4 series down.

    Please note that the integrated GPU is installed first, then the secondary GPU is installed. Please send me the picture of the hardware ID of the R7 Graphics adapter. I will send you a simple driver.

    Please do all of these and if it didn't work, let us know.

    I wasn't hasty I just misunderstood the instructions at first.
    I used DDU in safe mode to clean drivers, then installed 23.9.2 package which gives me display driver "RX500 series". I then installed the latest FX 9830P driver and it is incompatible with Adrenaline, gives error messages and blue screens. I also tried again this time using driver only installation and this time I got no error messages but the driver was crashing and popping up with the AMD error reporting tool. Please tell me if I have done something incorrect.
    It seems to me that I need an FX 9830P driver that is compatible with Adrenaline 23.9.2

    Please try to install the following Radeon R7 Graphics driver manually via device manager and restart the PC and let us know if the issue persists.

    Unfortunately not, I get the error message that the version of AMD software I have launched is not compatible with the installed graphics driver. I again started by using DDU from safe mode, then installed 23.9.2 and finally force installed the R7 driver you kindly provided

    So let's do it like this;

    Both R7 and RX550 drivers, click on the device manager to remove the device, check the "delete the driver software for this device" checkbox and remove it and restart the PC.

    First install the R7 Software, then the second install the rx 550 software. Restart the PC every time you install it.

    OK I tried that, uninstalled both drivers from device manager, manually installed the R7 V27.20.20913.2000 driver and then the RX550 23.9.2 package restarting after each install. This time Adrenaline accepted the R7 driver but as soon as I launched an application to share my screen I got the blue screen again.
    When I use the original Acer RX550 driver it shows in device manager as RX550 but when I use the later drivers it shows as RX500 series, is this ok or should it show the exact model?

    @Nitro5user83

    Yes, I understand that after the necessary drivers, you only get an error on screen sharing and there is no problem with other operations. I hope I understood correctly.

    The other thing you need to do is to install a new clean Windows (You can test it on external HDD or SSD.) and then repeat the steps I mentioned. Sometimes permanent damages, data loss, config file failures, multiple software versions remaining on Windows and malfunctions and failures due to this can occur.

    Sometimes software is not completely removed even though it appears to be removed.

    The Radeon R7 Graphics card is a graphics adapter (shared graphics) mounted on the motherboard.

    The Radeon RX 550 is called the Radeon 500 Series.

    Example Radeon 500 Series;

    Thanks, I did not try it on other applications but I imagine that if it is going to give me driver errors doing that task then it will do so with others. I have currently installed the latest FX9850P driver and what you tell me is the latest stable RX550 driver but both with driver only installation, no Adrenaline. So far I have a significant FPS increase and no crashes when screen sharing or playing a game but I will have to test it more extensively to determine true stability as the driver errors are often random and intermittent. I will test it and if I find problems will try a clean install of windows on a separate drive as you suggested

    So I did a clean install of windows but am still having problems. I think that actually my problem could be related to chipset drivers rather than display drivers. Could you tell me where I can find the latest chipset drivers? I am unable to find my model on the AMD website
