Recently my own laptop short-circuited and disabled the external graphics card 3070ti.

Although I do not have any problems playing games without an external graphics card and without using a battery, I gave my laptop's own graphics card to the Acer Turkey authorized service to activate it, but they told me to change the motherboard completely and offered a price higher than the new price of 1 year ago, I did not accept it and did not have it done.

The problem is that there is no spare part for this model in Turkey except the battery. I think this may not work but I still want to try to find a working graphics card at the repair shop.

So, a company that sells external graphics card 3070ti spare parts Where can I find it? What are the prices in Europe or the USA, which sites do you recommend, thank you.

Hi, you need Intel Thunderbolt4 or AMD USB4 that supports Video out DP Alt-mode for a eGPU, older Nitro laptops don't have a USB-C port with full DP support. You also can't run a Windows11 laptop without a battery, BIOS-Windows will detect a bad or no battery and will shut down.

What is the exact model of your laptop that has the RTX3070Ti gpu that blew up, as that is important and it must have a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 version connection to use the current external gpu enclosures for an easy connection

If your laptop lacks a Thunderbolt port, connecting an eGPU becomes more challenging. Instead of Thunderbolt, you could explore using an mPCIe or M.2 slot, which might require an adapter to convert the slot to PCIe x16. Alternatively, consider external graphics adapters using HDMI or DisplayPort, though these generally offer less performance than eGPUs. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:

    1. mPCIe or M.2 Slot:

    • Some laptops have mPCIe or M.2 slots that could be repurposed for eGPU connection.
    • These slots might require an adapter that converts them to a full-size PCIe x16 slot.
    • Not all M.2 slots are created equal; some might be for WiFi adapters or have limited bandwidth.
    • Check if the M.2 slot supports enough PCIe lanes (at least 4, ideally more) for a decent eGPU performance.

    2. External Graphics Adapters (HDMI/DisplayPort):

    • These adapters typically include an integrated graphics card that can enhance your laptop's graphics performance.
    • While they offer an improvement over the laptop's built-in GPU, they might not match the performance of a dedicated eGPU.

    3. Other Options (less common and potentially more complex):

    • ExpressCard/mPCIe:

Older solutions using these slots, but they're less common and offer lower performance than Thunderbolt or mPCIe/M.2 solutions.

    • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C:

While USB-C is often used for eGPU connections, it requires Thunderbolt support for sufficient bandwidth. Without Thunderbolt, using USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C for eGPU might be limited by the laptop's USB 3.2 controller, according to a Reddit thread

    • Custom solutions:

Some users have drilled holes in their laptop cases to access internal M.2 slots for eGPU connection.

    Important Considerations:

    • Performance:

Performance will generally be lower without Thunderbolt, especially with solutions relying on USB or mPCIe/M.2 with fewer PCIe lanes.

    • Complexity:

Setting up non-Thunderbolt eGPUs can be more complex, potentially requiring modifications to the laptop.

    • Compatibility:

Always check the compatibility of your laptop, eGPU, and any adapters you plan to use.

    • Power:

Make sure your laptop's power supply can handle the additional load of the eGPU.
