Some keys on my Acer laptop (Swift SF314-512) keyboard have stopped working one after another.

Some keys (Esc,F1,~,1,Caps and A) on my keyboard have stopped working. Initially, if I long-pressed one of the non-functioning keys, it would start working—and when one key worked, the other non-functioning keys would also start working. Likewise, if one key stopped working, the others would stop too. I thought it might be a software issue, so I updated the drivers, but the problem persisted.

Now, six more keys have stopped working, and even long-pressing no longer helps. I’ve used this laptop very lightly, and there have been no spills on the keyboard. I also tried cleaning it, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Additionally, some keys have mechanical issues—the key action isn’t working properly, and they feel stiff or hard to press.

This laptop is just two years old, and the problem began right after the warranty expired. I’m extremely disappointed with my decision to go with this brand.

All in the same area of the keyboard, which points to a physical issue rather than drivers or OS. That portion of the keyboard is near the hinge on the left side of the case. You might want to open it and look to see if the hinge is coming loose, putting extra pressure on that corner.

If a computer keyboard isn't working, one of the most likely reasons is that the driver software that commands how your keyboard functions is missing or outdated. This can be particularly problematic when switching keyboards, because the old driver has the potential to interfere with and disable your new keyboard.
Cut off the power supply completely: unplug your laptop, remove its battery, and reinsert it. Overheating can cause keyboard issues as the battery is directly beneath the keys. Turn on your laptop. If it starts successfully and your keyboard works, the issue might be with one of your external devices.
