How to fix bluetooth in Acer A515-57

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5 A515-57 running Windows 11 Home, and I'm having serious issues with the Bluetooth. I’m using a MediaTek Bluetooth adapter (MT7921), and no matter which Bluetooth device I try - like two earbuds, or my cellphone - they always show the same issue: they pair successfully, but a few seconds later I get a “Couldn’t connect” error and they disconnect.

These same earbuds work fine on my phone, and they used to work on this laptop as well, so the problem seems to be with the laptop's Bluetooth. I’ve already tried removing and reinstalling drivers (even using pnputil to fully delete them), and updating Windows, but nothing worked.

Please let me know if there's a working fix for this, or if there’s a stable driver update available. I really need a solution.

Thanks.

    Mediatek branded Bluetooth adapters can unfortunately cause problems. For such cases;

    • remove all paired devices,
    • uninstall the Bluetooth software and restart the computer.
    • download the software from the Acer website, install it and restart it, not the latest software.

If you did all of these but the problem still persists, please send me the hardware ID of the Bluetooth adapter from the device manager.

The biggest reason why the problems are not solvedis if someone who says there is a problem with the GPU says; If I change the case, will the problem be solved? That's the whole point! The concepts are different! We should not go off topic.

Hi @zyroot Is the Bluetooth adapter the original one for the computer or have you changed it?
Please try leaving only one device paired, remove the rest, and test again.
It's very important that you only install the driver provided by Acer and that Windows Update offers updates.
Do you have other devices near the computer that use Bluetooth?

To fix Bluetooth issues on an Acer Aspire A515-57, try these steps: First, ensure Bluetooth is enabled in Windows settings. If that doesn't work, try updating the Bluetooth driver, possibly using Intel's Driver & Support Assistant if the driver is Intel. If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth driver or even potentially replacing the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:

    1. Check Windows Bluetooth Settings:
Navigate to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
      Ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
If Bluetooth is off, turn it on. If it's on but not working, try toggling it off and on again.
    2. Update the Bluetooth Driver:
If you're using an Intel Bluetooth adapter:
Download and install Intel's Driver & Support Assistant for an automated update of your Intel drivers, including Bluetooth.
      If not Intel:
Go to the Acer website, find the correct drivers for your A515-57 model, and download the Bluetooth driver.
      Uninstall and reinstall:
If updating doesn't work, uninstall the current Bluetooth driver (Device Manager > Bluetooth > Uninstall device) and restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver. You can also try using a third-party driver update tool like Driver Easy.
    3. Advanced Troubleshooting (If previous steps fail):
Check Bluetooth Support Service: Open the Services app (search for it in Windows), find "Bluetooth Support Service," and set its startup type to "Automatic".
Try a different USB port (if using a Bluetooth dongle): Some USB ports may have issues with Bluetooth devices.
Consider a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card replacement: If all else fails, there's a possibility your Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card is faulty, and replacing it could solve the problem. This is generally a more advanced troubleshooting step.

I tried, but it still isn't working and I don't have any other devices near, using bluetooth. My drivers provided by Acer. I don't know what I have to do

The Bluetooth module may be faulty or your antenna may have come loose, but this is just a guess.
    Check the following:
Device Manager - Bluetooth. Right-click the device - Properties - Power Management - Disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Download and install the driver from the link below.

Download MT7921 1.1037.0.399 (Try the old version instead of the lşatest version.)

You need to manually update your device from the software update section in the device manager and then restart the computer.
