My camera stopped working, including face unlock, after the recent windows update[Build 26100.4061]. Tried every fix I could get, on support forums, including resetting the device. Here are the errors, one closely followed by the other-

Hi, restore the system to a date when the webcam was still working, type "Create a restore point" in Search and click on "System Restore" and a date:

Hi, enable System Protection on your laptop, this is a critical Windows feature. What you can do now is reinstall Windows with Windows Update:

That error is often associated with another app accessing the camera. You can only have one at a time connecting…

If the webcam on your Acer Swift Go 14 AI (Snapdragon X Plus) isn't working, it could be due to software issues, hardware problems, privacy settings, or malware. Basic checks, driver updates, and troubleshooting steps can often resolve these problems.
    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Basic Checks:
Check for physical damage: Look for any obvious damage to the webcam or its housing.
Verify the webcam is enabled: Some laptops have a physical switch or a privacy shutter to disable the camera. Ensure it's enabled.
Check camera access settings: Ensure that Windows is allowing the camera to be used by applications.
Restart your computer: A simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches.
    2. Software Issues:
Update camera drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause webcam problems. Go to Device Manager, find the camera, and update the driver.
Check for other applications accessing the camera: Some applications may be using the camera without your knowledge, preventing it from being used by other programs.
Install or reinstall the AcerSense app: AcerSense can help monitor camera and other system health issues.
Check for malware or system corruption: A malware infection or system corruption can also interfere with webcam functionality.
    3. Hardware Issues:
Check the camera for any visible damage or cracks: Physical damage can prevent the webcam from working.
Consider a replacement if the problem persists: If troubleshooting steps don't work, the webcam might need to be replaced or repaired under warranty.
    4. Contact Acer Support:
Check if your device is still covered under warranty: Acer laptops may have warranty coverage for hardware issues.
Contact Acer support for further assistance: They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps or arrange for repairs.

I’m facing the exact same issue after updating to the Insider Beta Channel 26129.3864.

    1. I tried reset my insider build, same issue
    2. I tried reinstalling windows to stable build 26100.4061, same issue
    3. I also tried reinstalling the Qualcomm drivers from Acer’s support site, but it actually made things worse— I got the "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error in Device Manager.

Have you found any workaround or fix yet? I’m still looking for a solution, so if you come across anything that works, let me know!

Update: Called acer support after trying every fix I could . And trust me the experience was terrible.

The guy came, and he had no f****** idea of what Windows Arm is. He was trying to reinstall windows X86, after trying drivers (@lim1029 updating the drivers worsened the situation, broke sound as well). Literally they were blaming secure boot, as a reason for the unbootable Windows Installer pendrive.

And I'm supposed to trust them, with my device!

Then he took the device to service centre, saying that I'll get it back the next day.

Next day I received a call, asking my microsoft id and password( they probably reinstalled windows, but did not had a microsoft account for setting up and testing the device )[ F*** Privacy ].

Then they asked me whether the cam was working, when I bought it.

Today is day 3 , I just called them for an update. They have ordered a replacement cam now, which will take probably a week (3 days in best case scenario).

End Result : It has been 5days now, f***ed my schedule and meetings, and will probably take a week more. Mind you, this is a "premium laptop" from the company [ Cost - INR 107000 ].

Fun Fact : I have to leave the city by month end, and I'm not sure whether I'll get my device back, by then or not.

    Regretting not going for mac!
