I ordered a Predator desktop direct from Acer and was looking forward to using it, since the reviews were great and I've ordered a few Acer products before.

The computer arrived to me nonfunctional, making a loud whining noise when turned on. I attempted on my own to reseat the RAM and reconnect all the components but it did not resolve the issue. Neither did calls to Acer. I requested to return the product as it was defective, however while Acer refunded the cost of the product, they would not refund the significant ($200) shipping cost of returning it to them.

Seriously the worst customer service I've gotten from a large company. Would recommend against ordering through Acer if you choose to buy at all, or better yet, just build your own.

    You have to appreciate that if you want a full refund and its not a warranty repair request, Acer is not liable for the shipping back of the Predator Orion desktop. Acer gave you the full refund, which is what Acer is liable for only.

    If you would have kept this Predator Orion desktop and wanted to repair this desktop under the Acer 12 months warranty, then you could have booked a Repair My Acer request that includes the shipping back to Acer Tech Support in your country and then Acer would have sipped this desktop back to you also.

    Acer goes out of their way for full warranty on their products and especially customer satisfaction, which is very apparent by Acer giving you a full refund for your Predator Orion desktop, but by you not wanting to keep this product, entails that you have to pay for the return shipping. Good luck and hope this clarifies and solves this issue, as it goes both ways.

    Desktop PCs are generally noisier than laptops. If you can explain clearly what the problem is, I can help you.

    Example;

    • I turned on my computer and there was no display,
    • My computer did not turn on.
    • My computer turns on but freezes, etc.

    Send clear questions.

    Hey SemihB, this desktop was returned to Acer by andrewjlewan and he got a full refund on the Predator Orion desktop, as all he is complaining about is that he had to pay $200 for the return shipping, he doesn't need any advice on the desktop problem and noise, as he has returned it to Acer😀
