Hey Everyone, I have been using the Galea 300 headset and while the sound is solid okay but the mic is not doing well when i use it on discord. People said that I sound far away or sometimes it picks up noise from the room. I tried to change the mic sensitivity and messed with the settings in discord and windows, but not much luck. Has anyone had this issue with this type of headset? I am testing it for some personal gaming stuff and want to see if there is a fix before I consider changing the gear.

Here are some specific steps and considerations that might help improve your mic performance.
The Galea 300 has a flip-to-mute boom mic. Make sure it’s positioned close to your mouth about 1-2 inches away and not too far off to the side. If it’s too far, your voice will sound faint, and the mic will pick up more room noise.

    Windows Sound Settings
Control Panel > Sound > Recording Tab > Your Mic > Properties
Levels Tab: Set mic level between 80–100, and mic boost to +10dB or +20dB (avoid maxing it if it causes static). Check Listen - Tab Enable "Listen to this device" temporarily to test mic in real-time.
Advanced Tab: Try setting the default format to 44100 Hz or 48000 Hz, 16-bit.

Also, right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Open Sound settings → Input → Select your headset mic. Click Device properties and Ensure "Disable" is off under enhancements as some drivers add noise suppression that can hurt quality.

Discord Settings. Go to User Settings > Voice & Video
Input Sensitivity: Disable "Automatically determine input sensitivity" and manually adjust the bar while speaking. Set the threshold just below your normal speaking level. Make sure the correct mic is selected — sometimes it defaults to "Stereo Mix" or another device.

Echo Cancellation, Noise Suppression, and Automatic Gain Control. Try disabling all these first to check if Discord’s processing is interfering. Then turn them back on one by one.

Test Outside Discord. Try recording your voice using Windows Voice Recorder or Audacity free app.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

It will most likely be some kind of AI noise reduction software.

It could be in realtek audio console. It could be anywhere such as acer PurifiedVoice app if you have an acer computer. If you have other computer brand's computer, then they are in their own audio app.
