The cpu fan has nothing to do with the “monitor won't come up and lights on keyboard and mouse” what have you exactly done as your question doesn’t make sense “black and white wires came off that were …soldered to the o came off <<<where did it come off from <<<?”

The wires to the G3-710 desktops cpu cooler are black yellow and red not black and white, see caption below. There is no specific wiring diagrams in the G3-710 desktops service guide that we can pass onto you. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the quick reply, however I think you missed the point of my question, there was a black and white wire that were wrapped around the cooling fan they were soldered in at a lower point and the motherboard and ran up to the front of the computer case. They are independent of the fan and I am aware that the cooling fan power connection has nothing to do with computer start up.

Take a caption of the exact wire and position where its at, as its very hard to ascertain what you are talking about without you showing the exact wire(s) that you mean, as there are allot of connecting wires from the mainboard to the case etc etc as we can only give you details of what is in the G3-710 desktops service guide and what wiring diagrams it has.

Thanks again for the quick response, upon investigation the black and white wires actually have connectors and they are for the wireless board which obviously has nothing to do with system power up. We removed just about all peripherals from the motherboard to try to isolate where the problem was with no luck, I'm guessing at this point I must have been careless and caused ESD damage to the motherboard. So at this point I am looking for a compatible replacement ATX micro motherboard. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Take your desktop mobo to a technician and get them to analyze your desktop and pinpoint the exact fault that you have, as on desktop boards most of the chips can be replaced and the board can be fixed easily at a very limited cost. good luck.

If you want to buy a new G3-710 mobo then use the Acer part number highlighted below as a references for your search on the web.

It sounds like the power or signal wires for the front panel I/O or fan tach sensor got damaged. Double-check that no cables are shorting against the motherboard or case, and inspect where the wires broke — if they were connected to a thermal sensor or RPM monitor, the system might be failing POST. Try booting with minimal components (1 RAM stick, no GPU if there's onboard video) and listen for beep codes or check diagnostic LEDs.

Thanks for the helpful input, I've checked into a new and used G3-710 motherboard brand new from Acer parts is $422.00 and I'm not real keen on a used board from Ebay. I was kind of hoping to find an aftermarket alternative that was compatible any ideas?

The mainboard of the Predator G3-710 desktop is an Intel B150 chipset uATX form factor and its dimensions (W × H) are 244mm*244mm and its an Intel LGA1151 socket cpu 4 layers board. If you want to buy a new board and if you want to use the existing cpu, ram and PSU, then buy this exact spec board and size as above, so that you can swap the cpu, ram and PSU into the new board and only have to buy the new board, which will be 50%+ cheaper than the oem G3-710 board at $422.00 from an Acer retailer.

If you want to upgrade the board to a higher spec board, you will need to upgrade the cpu and ram and get the higher spec cpu and a board that has the TPM v2.0 that is fully compatible to the Win-11 OS specs that the min cpu is the 8th Gen cpu board.

if you want the higher spec cpu's like the 9th/10th/11th Gen cpu's you will have to upgrade to a new cpu and ram with the higher spec of DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram boards. Those are your options, but I don't know if these 8th or even the higher spec boards are still available new, so you will have to do your research on these boards. Good luck.

I'd look seriously at upgrading beyond the G3-710 spec. Things have changed a lot since 2015!
