The Aspire 5738Z is an older laptop model, and Acer has likely discontinued support for it. This means they no longer provide updated drivers for newer operating systems like Windows 10 or 11. The laptop was originally designed for Windows 7, and while Windows 10 might install generic drivers, they may not fully support all features of the hardware.

If you're looking for drivers, you might find older versions on third-party websites like HelpDrivers. However, be cautious when downloading from unofficial sources, as they can pose security risks. Alternatively, you could consider using a Linux-based operating system, which often has better support for older hardware.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

This is a 2009 Windows7 laptop no longer supported by Acer, best to continue using Windows10 1507 but BT drivers won't be available anymore. Consider installing Linux or migrating to a Windows11 laptop, you can't register a device after 10 years.

If function keys are not working after a Windows 10 update, several troubleshooting steps can be taken. First, ensure the keyboard drivers are up-to-date, and check for any "Fn" or "F-Lock" keys on your keyboard that might need to be enabled. If that doesn't work, you can try restarting the Human Interface Device Service (HidServ) or rolling back the keyboard driver. Finally, you can check BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure function keys are enabled there.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:

    1. Check for "Fn" or "F-Lock" keys:
Many laptops have an "Fn" or "F-Lock" key that activates the function key behavior (F1-F12). Ensure this key is enabled or that the "Fn" key is pressed along with the function key.
Some keyboards also have an "F-Lock" key that locks the function key behavior so you don't have to press "Fn" every time
    2. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:
Outdated or corrupted keyboard drivers can cause issues.
Go to Device Manager (search for it in the Start Menu), find "Keyboards," right-click on your keyboard, and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" and then restart your computer to let Windows automatically reinstall the driver.
    3. Restart the Human Interface Device Service (HidServ):
This service manages keyboard input. You can restart it by opening Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), going to the Services tab, finding HidServ, right-clicking, and selecting "Restart".
    4. Roll Back Keyboard Driver:
If the update caused the issue, you can try rolling back to a previous version of the driver.
In Device Manager, right-click on the keyboard, select "Update driver," choose "Browse my computer for drivers," "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer," and select an older version if one is available.
    5. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:
Some BIOS/UEFI settings control keyboard behavior. You may need to enable function keys within the BIOS settings.
Restart your computer, press the key to enter BIOS (usually Delete, F2, or F12), and look for settings related to keyboard or function keys.
    6. Run SFC and DISM Scans:
These scans can repair corrupted system files that might be causing the problem.
Open Command Prompt as administrator, run sfc /scannow, then dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth, and finally dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
