I can't find a way to wake up my ANV15-51 laptop from sleep mode.
Here is my configuration:

  • Windows 11
  • Laptop is connected to external HDMI display, USB mouse and USB keyboard.
  • Laptop lid is closed (as I use the external display).
  • Laptop goes to sleep mode using the Windows Start menu, Sleep.

While the laptop is in sleep mode, I click the mouse or press a key on the keyboard. The mouse or keyboard is activated briefly (I see LEDs lightning up for a second), and turned back off. The laptop doesn't wake up.

To wake the laptop up, I have to open the lid - which is not what I want to do.

The setup was working as expected with a previous laptop.

Detailed system configuration:

  • Device Manager: for both the mouse and the keyboard > Properties > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer from sleep mode (option checked).
  • Power plans > Advanced power settings > USB settings > USB selective suspend setting > On battery: Disabled and Plugged in: Disabled.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi, in BIOS locate the option "Wake on USB while lid is closed", you may have to press Ctrl+S to see any hidden options, enable that feature.

This is the BIOS for PHN16-71 but your BIOS should be similar, if you don't have that option, it cannot be done.

Unfortunately that is how the sleep settings are if you use an external mouse and keyboard, as what you need to do to wake the laptop up from sleep is to press the Power key or the laptop and then the laptop will wake up from its sleep mode if left overnight in sleep mode.

This is how I'm using my Predator Neo PHN16-71 with the exact settings shown above and that is what I've got to do when I put this laptop in sleep mode overnight, in the morning, I have to press the laptop Power Key to wake the laptop up from sleep. The Mouse or Keyboard only works if the laptop goes into sleep mode after 30min and then I press the mouse and then it wakes up from sleep mode automatically but not if the laptop was put to sleep overnight and for a few hours.
