I have a spin 714 and it used to have the keyboard backlight always on. It would come on as soon as the device was powered up and would never timeout. Now it only comes on when I type or touch the screen, and then times out within 15 seconds. Anyone know how I can have the backlight always on like it used to be? I can't find any setting to do this. Wondering if this is a result of a chrome update. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @srg914

The Android Chrome OS doesn't have traditional BIOS settings like a Windows laptop. The keyboard backlight timeout is controlled by ChromeOS, and unfortunately, there isn't a built-in setting to disable the timeout.

To keep the keyboard backlight on continuously on an Acer Spin 714, you need to disable the automatic backlight timeout. This is typically done through the Acer NitroSense utility or by adjusting settings within the operating system's power management options.
    Here's how to achieve this:

    1. Using Acer NitroSense (if available):
Open the Acer NitroSense application, which may be pre-installed on your Acer laptop.
Navigate to the "Lighting" or "Backlight" settings within NitroSense.
Look for a setting that controls the automatic backlight timeout (e.g., "Turn off after X seconds"). You'll want to set this to "Never" or "Disable" to keep the backlight on continuously.
    2. Adjusting Windows Power Settings:
Open Windows Power Settings (search for "Power Plan" in the Start Menu).
Go to "Change power plan settings" and then "Change advanced power settings".
Expand "Keyboard" and then "Keyboard Backlight".
Set the "When on battery" and "When plugged in" options to "Never" to disable the timeout.
Note: The exact steps and available options may vary slightly depending on your specific model of Acer Spin 714 and the version of NitroSense or Windows you're using.
