GPU Fan Speed on My Acer Nitro V15 ANV15-51-542G Stuck at Max Speed

Hi everyone, I have an Acer Nitro V15 ANV15-51-542G and I'm currently facing an issue where the GPU fan speed is constantly running at max (7000+ RPM), while the CPU fan speed remains normal.

This started happening yesterday while I was just browsing with 4-5 tabs open — nothing intensive — and suddenly the GPU fan ramped up to full speed. Here's what I've checked so far:

  1. Fan control in NitroSense is set to Auto mode
  2. No heavy apps are running according to Task Manager
  3. CPU and GPU temps are both under 60°C according to HWMonitor

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

Check in Task Manager-Processes the running background apps, click on the Processes column header and the list will show the background processes separately, should not be more than 80 apps, uninstall the programs you don't use and disable apps in Startup you don't need.
Acer released a new BIOS version 3 days ago 1.26 dated 2025/04/17, install that BIOS version as this updates the fan speed and other controls.
Reset fan curves: Some users suggest using MSI Afterburner to manually adjust the fan speed.

Start by updating NitroSense and GPU drivers from Acer's support page or the official NVIDIA website. Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date by checking for updates and installing them. Uninstall unused programs and disable unnecessary apps in Startup to reduce clutter and optimize performance. Additionally, clean the fan and vents gently using soft brush to improve airflow. Lastly, reinstall NitroSense by uninstalling it via the Control Panel and downloading the latest version from Acer’s website.
