My brightness keys seem slow to respond than before. After my laptop gets turned on I always refresh a bit and if the brightness seems high I low it down with the help of brightness key, but now it seems real slow. Please anyone help me with it.

Likely there is a background application or service that is using enough resources to keep it from responding quickly to the keys.

PxiTpService is using 8 - 9.5% of my CPU. Is it a problem?

Whenever I open my laptop, it takes 30 to 40 seconds to function brightness keys. I didn't specify the problem before. So, sorry. I feel that before, it used to function right away after turning it on. But now it doesn't.

Which version of the PixArt touchpad driver are you running?

You can start by updating the drivers for your keyboard and display, which can be done by visiting Acer's official support page. Ensuring drivers are current helps maintain smooth functionality. Additionally, you can check background processes by opening Task Manager to identify and close any tasks consuming excessive CPU or memory, which may impact responsiveness. Finally, confirm that your operating system is fully updated, as system updates often resolve bugs and improve performance in a secure way.

If your Acer laptop's brightness keys are responding slowly, you can try updating your keyboard or display drivers, disabling adaptive brightness, and adjusting power settings. If the issue persists, you may need to check for hardware problems like a failing LED backlight.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Update Drivers:
      Keyboard Driver:
In Device Manager, find "Keyboards" and uninstall the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard." Reboot your computer; the driver should reinstall automatically.
      Display Driver:
Open Device Manager, find "Display adapters," right-click your graphics card, and select "Update driver".
    2. Disable Adaptive Brightness:
Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
Expand "Display" and disable "Enable adaptive brightness".
    3. Adjust Power Settings:
Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
Adjust display brightness settings under "Display".
    4. Check Hardware:
If the problem persists after trying software solutions, the LED backlight in your display might be failing.
    5. Other Potential Solutions:
Reboot your computer: A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.
Boot into Safe Mode: If the issue persists, boot into Safe Mode and see if the brightness keys work. This helps determine if a driver or software conflict is causing the problem.
System File Checker (SFC): Run the System File Checker in the command prompt to check for and repair corrupted system files.
    6. Acer-Specific Keys:
Many Acer laptops use a combination of the FN key and other keys (like arrow keys or F keys) to adjust brightness, so make sure you're using the correct key combination.
