Earlier today i turned on my laptop and after only 10 minutes it suddenly said hibernating for less then a second. I tried turning it back on and thr power light blinks 5 times. I also tried plugging it in but the charging light would not turn on. I do have a 4 year warranty and I'm planning to bring the laptop to the shop tomorrow so if this is fixable I would like to know so I can save my warranty. My nitro 5 laptop is 3 years old if that's able to help out

Hi, bring the laptop to the Acer shop, this may be an overheating issue and cleaning-thermal repasting may fix it. Could also be a hardware problem, depleted battery or an issue with the RAM modules.

    Hi 0iuke,
Here's a breakdown of the problem and potential solutions:
    Understanding the Issue:-

Blinking Power Light: A blinking power light, especially five times, can signal a problem with the laptop's ability to power on or maintain a stable state.
Hibernation: The laptop entering hibernation instead of powering on suggests a failure to boot or a problem with the power management system.
    Troubleshooting Steps:-

    1. Basic Checks:
Power Adapter: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Try a different outlet or power adapter to rule out problems with the current setup.
Battery: If the battery is removable, try booting the laptop with the battery removed and only the power adapter connected.
Clean the charging port: Clean the charging port on the laptop with a soft brush or a small, dry cloth.
    2. Hard Reset (Power Drain):
Unplug Everything: Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
Hold Power Button: Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to drain any residual power.
Reconnect and Restart: Reconnect the power adapter and try to power on the laptop.
    3. BIOS Reset (If the above steps don't work):
Access BIOS: While the laptop is off, press and hold the F2 key (or the key that accesses the BIOS/UEFI) while pressing the power button.
Load Defaults: Once in the BIOS, navigate to the "Load Defaults" or "Restore Defaults" option and select it.
Save and Exit: Save the changes and exit the BIOS.
    4. Check RAM: If RAM is not soldered: If your Nitro 5 has removable RAM, try reseating the RAM modules or using a different RAM module to see if that resolves the issue.
If RAM is soldered: If the RAM is soldered, this may indicate a more serious problem with the motherboard.
    5. Hardware Issues: Check for Damage: Inspect the laptop for any signs of physical damage, especially around the power button, charging port, or motherboard.
Professional Repair: If the problem persists, it's recommended to seek professional repair from a qualified technician or Acer authorized service center.
