i have an acer aspire v3 772g with the model number of VA70

i upgraded the pc ram from 8GB to 16GB but 8GB is hardware reserved now , i thought upgrading the bios would fix this isssue but it didnt , and then i thought maybe the cpu doesnt support 16GB of ram

but when i googled it turned out thet it supports to 32GB of ram

CPU is : i5 4200M

The Acer Aspire V3-772G, which utilizes the VA70_HW motherboard, supports a maximum of 32GB of DDR3L RAM across four memory slots. This configuration allows for the installation of up to 8GB in each slot

i watched some youtube videos about the topic nd messed around with some windows settings , but i dont think that this is the casee , i even tried a fresh install of windows 10 but nothing changed , so can anyone offer some help and thanks in advance

It likely means your system is either reserving RAM for the integrated graphics iGPU or encountering compatibility issues with the new RAM.
Some systems, especially those with integrated graphics, reserve RAM for the iGPU, which can appear as "hardware reserved". The new RAM might not be fully compatible with your motherboard or other hardware components, leading to the system reserving memory.

As per official Acer documentation, this mode supports ''Dual-channel DDR3L SDRAM support:
Up to 8 GB of DDR3L system memory, upgradable to 16 GB using two soDIMM modules for UMA machine (only has INTEL graphic controller) with Quad-Core CPU under 64bit OS,
upgradable to 32 GB using four soDIMM modules for DIS machine (has both INTEL graphic controller and NVIDIA graphics processing unit) with CPU under 64bit OS''

Please check the below specification to check if you are using the memory modules with correct speed and voltage mentioned here.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
