My Acer Swift 5 keyboard randomly doubles characters. It doesn't happen all the time (leaving the demo here).

Is there anything that can be done about it software wise?
Or do I need to replace the whole keyboard?

Do you have an external keyboard? Check if the external keyboard behaves the same way. If it does, then the issue is likely at the software level. If not, it suggests a hardware-related problem, and you may need to replace the built-in keyboard if you want to resolve the issue.

Typically that type of issue is at the software level rather than hardware, so follow that suggestion if you can.

If your Acer Swift 5 keyboard is randomly doubling characters, try adjusting the keyboard repeat delay and rate settings in Windows, updating the keyboard driver, or even uninstalling and reinstalling the driver through Device Manager.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Keyboard Settings:
Access Keyboard Properties: Go to the Control Panel, then select "Keyboard".
Adjust Repeat Delay and Rate: Experiment with the "Repeat delay" and "Repeat rate" settings to see if a slower repeat rate helps.
Repeat Delay: This controls how long you need to hold a key down before it starts repeating.
Repeat Rate: This controls how fast the character repeats when you hold down a key.
    2. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Driver:
Open Device Manager: Search for "Device Manager" in the Windows search bar.
Locate Keyboard: Expand the "Keyboards" section.
Update Driver: Right-click on your keyboard and select "Update driver".
      Choose "Search automatically for drivers".
Uninstall and Reinstall: If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and then restarting your computer, which should prompt Windows to reinstall it.
    3. Other Potential Solutions:
      Check for Sticky Keys:
Make sure the "Sticky Keys" feature isn't enabled, as it can cause unintended key presses.
      Clean the Keyboard:
Dust and debris can sometimes cause keys to stick or malfunction.
      External Keyboard Test:
If possible, try using an external keyboard to see if the issue persists, which will help determine if the problem is with the built-in keyboard or a software issue.
      Hardware Issue:
If none of the above steps work, it's possible there's a hardware issue with the keyboard, and you might need to contact Acer support or consider a repair or replacement.
      Run Hardware Troubleshooter:
You can also use the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter in Windows to diagnose and potentially fix hardware issues.
