ACER Swift 3 SF314-57G-77MQ unable to charge after loud noise and high CPU usage, any solutions?

I was using my laptop normally while charging when I heard loud noise from laptop. Checked the task manager and found CPU and disk was running at 100% for a short period before the charging beep sound came up. Then, the laptop would not charge at all, with the AC adapter, or the thunderbolt USB-C port. The laptop was still running normal. I ran the windows power troubleshooter with the little battery I got and found no issues. I've also tried the battery reset without success.

Now the battery is dead and got the critical low battery warning whenever I tried to power on. I've contacted my local ACER service center and they replied all parts were discontinued and refused to service my laptop.

I'm guessing this is most likely a motherboard issue? Since the laptop was running normal when it has charge, is there anyway to bypass the charging mechanism to directly power on the laptop, or charge the battery externally? It's a shame if it could not be salvaged, as the laptop had been running faultless for 5+ years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sure does sound like something went horribly wrong with the charging circuit on the motherboard… Although I'd expect at only four years old there would still be parts available. Maybe try looking for a MB on the secondary market?

If your Acer Swift 3 laptop's battery isn't charging, start by ensuring the charger is connected securely and try a different outlet or charger. If that doesn't work, consider a battery reset, checking the charging port, or contacting Acer support for further assistance.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check the Basics:
Connection: Make sure the charger is firmly plugged into both the laptop and the wall outlet, and that the cable is not damaged.
Outlet: Try a different power outlet to rule out a faulty one.
Charger: If possible, try using a different charger or cable to see if the issue lies with the charger itself.
Charging Port: Inspect the charging port for any debris or damage.
    2. Battery Reset:
      Hard Reset:
Some Acer Swift 3 models have a battery reset pinhole. Locate it (usually near the power button) and use a paperclip or similar to press and hold the button for 15-30 seconds, then release.
      Power Drain:
Disconnect the power adapter and battery (if removable), press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then reconnect the battery and power adapter.
    3. Software Issues:
Restart: Simply restart your computer and see if the battery icon status updates.
Driver Updates: Check for any updates for your battery driver and reset accordingly.
    4. Contact Acer Support:
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be a hardware problem, and you should contact Acer support for further assistance.
Acer Community can also be a good resource for troubleshooting.
    5. Other Potential Issues:
      Loose Connection:
The charging cable could have a weak connection because it wasn't made by the laptop's manufacturer.
      Charging Port Clogged:
The charging ports could be clogged with dirt or debris that is keeping it from powering up properly.
