There are SATA ports on motherboard of Aspire TC-1785.
Can I add SATA SSD? Do I just need cables? data AND power?

    Yes, you need both SATA data and power cables for the TC-1785 models. Here is the board layout:

    #7 are the three SATA ports, you need just the standard SATA data cables for those. #6 are the SATA power connectors. You need a special cable from Acer for those, though one should have been included in the box. Here is the part number:

    Note that even though Acer sourced them from a couple of vendors, they are identical and share the same part number. We've often found they are cheaper purchased from eBay or Aliexpress that from the normal parts suppliers.

    If you are interested in adding a 2.5" SATA III SSD drive to your TC-1785 then I suggest that you use the Samsung V-NAD 870 EVO SATA III SSD that comes in capacities ranging from 1TB to 4TB and its also got a very good app called Magician that is a performance monitor and benchmarked, firmware updater and also has a part called Data Migration to clone any Samsung SSD with. good luck and hope this helps you out further.
