Hi, I have been installing some games on Steam that are listed in the acer app as work in 3d

however, a large number of them give the java error shown

I have tired installing the latest java 64 bit that makes things worse, so I have now installed the 32-bit version but still no change

I have installed net 3.5 no change

I have upgraded the GeForce driver to the latest edition

all updates are installed

Hi, The ENOENT error code means the file doesn't exist, also check if you are logged on as Administrator in Windows.

    Hi Puraw

The version of Windows 11 on the Predator Acer laptop doesn't let you create a user account using the snap in, so i have been using the Admin account. I have tried booting the app with Admin no luck. I have no idea what file doesn't exist or where it should be? I have also downloaded the latest software versions from the Acer site still no luck. For a brand new machine this is rubbish I have been given some advise from Acer that I have completed with the exception of updating the BIOS. Thank you for your help

How to Troubleshoot and Fix JavaScript Errors:-

Check your antivirus software and create an exception for the app you're installing.
Delete the app data from your computer and uninstall the app before downloading it again.
Repair the Windows Visual C++ in your system app settings.
Try running the app as an administrator.

If your Acer Nitro 5 is showing a blue screen during NVIDIA driver updates, it could be due to driver incompatibility or hardware issues. To address this, try booting into Safe Mode, uninstalling the current NVIDIA drivers, and then installing drivers specifically from Acer's website.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:
    Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer. Press and hold the Alt + F10 keys: during startup to access the Windows Recovery Environment screen. Select "Troubleshoot": from the options.
Choose "Advanced Options" .Select "Startup Settings". Click "Restart" .
In the Startup Settings menu, press F4: to boot into Safe Mode.

    Uninstall NVIDIA Drivers:
Open Device Manager. Expand "Display adapters" .
Right-click on your NVIDIA GPU: and select "Uninstall device".
    Restart your computer

    Install Drivers from Acer Support:
Go to Acer's support website, Acer Downloads and find the drivers for your specific Nitro 5 model. Download the latest NVIDIA drivers: provided by Acer. Install the drivers .

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

After another B.S.O.D I gave up and left it to return back to Acer. The next day I booted the laptop only to find it wanted to reinstall Windows ????. W.T.F. I gave it it's last chance and let it proceed, after some time it had installed and then said this version of Windows 11 is not supported ????. at that point I ran a game and found there was no Java error. I then let it install the New version of Windows 11, after that had completed I then tried a game again and there was again no java error. The already installed software needed all the licenses re activating which I completed. So now hopefully it's looking better. I decided to retry the games that failed

These are some the games in the Acer software list

    1. if it boots to 3d your good to go in real 3d
    2. if it boots to 2d which a lot of these games listed do, I tried 2d and side by side, the on the fly 2d conversion worked OK, but this isn't real 3d. The side by side option screws up because it's a 2d game

So after all this a lot of the games listed in the Acer App are not true 3d, this should be pointed out to the users, so be careful what games you buy

Out of interest I booted some of my installed games, none were listed in the Acer App, set them to 2d on the fly conversion and they now worked OK be it not in true 3d.

As for the B.S.O.D , C.P.U.I.D showed the core processors were getting way to hot it hit 90 deg c at one point

Using the Acer software I increased the fan speeds, be it a bit noisy, the C.P.U on idle was hitting 60+ deg it's now around 45 to 50. I couldn't find a way using a curve to set the fans speed which I feel would have worked better.

I will try it out for a bit now. The laptop is on it's last chance. if it fails aging it's going back to Acer

Over all it's been a real pain
