I have an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN-16-71-77HU) for a year now. I mainly use the USB port on the left side for my fan and now it suddenly stops working. The other two ports on the right side works just fine. I have tried plugging in different things like my mouse and phone, but it still does not work, so that means the problem is not the cable but the port itself, right? Can someone help me?

If a single USB port on your computer suddenly stopped working while others are fine, it could be a hardware issue with the port itself, or potentially a driver problem.

A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches that might be causing the issue.
Power Reset : To reset your Acer laptop using the battery reset pinhole, first ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged from the AC adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of your laptop, usually marked with a battery icon. Using a small paperclip or a similar object, press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for about 5 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop.

    Check Device Manager:
Open Device Manager: Search for "Device Manager" in the Windows search bar and open it.
Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers": Look for any entries with a yellow exclamation mark or a red "X" symbol, indicating a problem.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the USB controllers: Right-click on each USB controller and select "Uninstall device". After uninstalling, restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.

    Run Hardware Troubleshooter:
Open Troubleshooter: Search for "Troubleshooter" in the Windows search bar and open it.
Select Hardware and Devices: Choose the "Hardware and Devices" troubleshooter.
Follow the prompts: Let the troubleshooter run and see if it can identify and fix any problems.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible there's a hardware problem with the USB port that requires professional repair or replacement.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

begin by inspecting the left USB port for any visible damage, dust, or debris, and gently clean it using compressed air to ensure there’s no blockage. Next, perform a power cycle by shutting down your laptop completely, unplugging it, and holding the power button for 30 seconds before restarting it. Open Device Manager and locate the USB controllers; uninstall the driver associated with the faulty port, then restart the laptop so Windows can automatically reinstall the driver. Update your USB controller drivers by downloading the latest version from Acer’s Support Page.
