I haven't charged my Chromebook for a few days. When I charged it, there was no light on the side. And when I use a different charger, it gets very hot. What can I do if it won't open when it's charging?

If your Chromebook won't charge or turn on when plugged in and gets hot, try letting it cool down, unplugging the charger, and then attempting to power it on again. If that doesn't work, try a hard reset or a powerwash.
Ensure the Chromebook is completely turned off. Remove Power Adapter: Unplug the power adapter.
If your Chromebook has a removable battery, remove it, then put it back in.
Reconnect the power adapter. Attempt to turn on the Chromebook.

Ensure the power adapter and cable are working correctly by trying a different charger or cable. If the Chromebook starts up, check the battery status in the lower right corner of the screen to see if it's charging.

It is always recommended to use a charger of same specification shipped with your Chromebook.

Still I've been charging the chromebook for a 6 hours but it's still the same. I'm using the charger that came in the box with the chromebook.

Try a hard reset by unplugging the charger, holding down the power button for 30 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop. Observe the charging LED or battery status indicator to see if charging has begun.

If there's no light on the side of your device when charging, it could indicate a problem with the charger, the charging port, or the device itself. The charger itself might be malfunctioning. Try using a different charger or power adapter of same specification to see if that works.

If the charging light doesn't come on, there is an issue with the charger. Which Chromebook model do you have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. What are the specs for the other charger you tried?
