Low recording volume Predator Helios Neo 16

Hello, I've recently bought a Predator Helios Neo 16, and I'm struggling with audio input. I tested a headset, but the input volume was really low. Then, I tried a USB microphone, and the problem persisted. I tried increasing the Windows volume, updating drivers, and multiple other solutions I found online, but I’m not sure what else I can do.

As an example, I connected the same USB microphone to my old laptop (Aspire E 15), and in Audacity, it recorded my voice at -6 dB. However, on the Predator Helios Neo 16, it only records at -30 dB.

Does anyone know how to fix this or have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate any help—thanks in advance!

    Hello, thanks for the answers!

For future reference I fixed my problem in the Predator Sense, as suggested by @Axxo .

I fixed it at the Predator Sense (Home Page)→ View All Features → Acer Purified Voice → Open

Acer Purified Voice → (Select Your Microphone) → Disable All Noises Reduction (at the Microphone).

If you're experiencing low recording volume on your Acer Predator Helios Neo 16, try adjusting the microphone volume in the Sound settings, ensuring the microphone is set as the default, and exploring microphone boost options.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:-

    1. Check Microphone Settings in Windows Sound:
Access Sound Settings: Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings".
Recording Tab: Navigate to the "Recording" tab.
Select Microphone: Choose your microphone (e.g., "Microphone Array").
      Properties: Click "Properties".
Levels Tab: Go to the "Levels" tab.
Adjust Volume: Move the volume slider to the desired level.
Microphone Boost: Check the "Microphone Boost" box and adjust the slider if needed.
Set Default: Ensure your microphone is set as the default device under "Recording".
    2. Run the Audio Troubleshooter:
In the Sound settings, click "Troubleshoot".
      Follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers:
Device Manager: Open Device Manager (search for "Device Manager" in the Start menu).
Audio Devices: Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
Right-click Microphone: Right-click your microphone device (e.g., "Microphone Array") and select "Update driver".
Choose "Search automatically" or "Browse my computer" .
Reinstall: If updating doesn't fix the issue, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the driver.
    4. Check for Software Conflicts:
PredatorSense: If you're using PredatorSense, ensure it's not interfering with audio settings.
Other Audio Applications: Check if any other audio applications are running and causing conflicts.
    5. Consider External Microphone:
If the issue persists, consider using an external microphone for better recording quality.
    6. Factory Reset (Last Resort):
If all else fails, a factory reset might be necessary.
Note: Before performing a factory reset, back up important data.

Start by using the Windows Audio Troubleshooter. Navigate to Settings > System > Sound, select your microphone under "Input," and click "Troubleshoot" to identify and resolve any problems. Next, review your microphone settings by right-clicking the sound icon in the taskbar, selecting "Sounds," and going to the "Recording" tab. From there, adjust the levels in the "Levels" tab, ensuring that the microphone boost is enabled.

You can also try updating your audio drivers via Windows. Open the Device Manager by pressing Windows + X, expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section, right-click your audio device, and choose "Update driver." Select "Search automatically for drivers" to allow Windows to find updates for you. Additionally, test your microphone in different applications like Microsoft Teams to determine if the issue is consistent across platforms
