Hi there

Wanna ask what's normal temperature for CPU & GPU while gaming around 20 minutes?

I have Acer Nitro V15 with Ryzen 5 7535HS and RTX 2050, 8GB RAM (might upgrade to 16GB).

While gaming, I got GPU temp around 54-59°C and for CPU I got around 77-83°C but sometimes it will go up to 90 n above. The game I play is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

I need an answer so that I can preserve my laptop's health. Maybe some suggestions will help since I'm not that good about gaming laptop.

Thanks!

Hi, 77-83°C, is a normal operating temp. range for this model, occasional spikes of 90°C is no problem, the CPU can sustain up to 95°C, then the system will start to throttle. If you worry about overheating get a silent 8 fan cooling pad like this model: Amazon.com: KLIM V8 Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 8 Fans + New Version 2024 + Gaming Laptop Cooler + Stable RGB Laptop Stand with Fan + Compatible up to 17" + 2 USB Ports + Phone Holder + 5 Year Warranty : Electronics

Would recommend that you buy a "Laptop Tablet Cooler” as with the Nitro AN515-54 the problem is that both fans are bunched together and the CPU/GPU are located away from the fans, hence, the heat extraction of the CPU/GPU is not efficient and/or 100%, that is why you get overheating. This is a design problem and there is very little that you can do to reduce these high temps.

The best and simplest way is to get a “Laptop Tablet Cooler” that inserts fresh/cold air to the underneath vents of your laptop. Also, you can modify these “Laptop Tablet Coolers” if they don’t do 100% job by putting bigger fans or build one yourself. The Nitro AN515-54 has very adequate underside venting system at the underside top (which additional vents could be put at the bottom also?) but its 2x CPU/GPU fans are the problem as they don’t assist in cross venting and/or extracting hot air and cooling the whole case and it restricts the crossflow ventilation of your Nitro AN515-54 case that runs so hot.
