Can you tell me how to confirm that it is recorded properly at Acer?

The Acer link shows my warranty expires exactly 12 months after purchase (5-5-25). The 2 year warranty extension shows NOWHERE. This is my entire issue. I paid for an add-on 2 year warranty, but it does not show up. Acer insists sthey are not aware of it.

Am now trying to work through Amazon (where I purchased both the computer and the add-on warranty) to see if I can either get my money back, or get the extended warranty.

You paid for an extended warranty and it's not showing up, which is understandably concerning.

Since you purchased both the computer and the add-on warranty from Amazon, reaching out to their customer support is a good step. Go through your order history on Amazon to find the purchase details of the add-on warranty. There might be specific information or a separate warranty code that you can use.

Sometimes the extended warranty is managed by the retailer rather than the manufacturer. Please reach out to them directly. Look for any contact information or support options on their Amazon storefront. You can also go back to the product listing on Amazon and see if there are any details about the extended warranty. There might be specific instructions or contact information provided there.

Well, after chatting with Acer a bit and getting a phone call from Acer they attempted to fix the problem.

    BUT FAILED MISERABLY!

They simply re-billed my Amazon Pay account for ANOTHER 2 year warranty and DID NOT REFUND my original purchase of this in June 2024. I'm a bit miffed to say the least.

Will keep digging until either it gets fixed or I reach China.

OK - maybe all is well now. l I spoke with Karen at Acer and according to her the 2yr warranty should show up on my computer in a day or so. I'll check back later next week and hope for the best.

It sort of worked out. Turns out that my Acer Nitro 17 purchase on Amazon actually came from a non-Acer vendor "Issaquah Highlands Tech storefront". I had no understanding that my purchase was from a non-certified Acer reseller.

The latest word from Acer eCommerce division is that my computer was first powered up in June 2023 - 11 months before I purchased it. Thus they now say that my initial 12 month warranty began at that time. So when I took possession of it in May 2024, 11 months of the initial warranty had already expired. So at this time they say my 2 year extended warranty expires in June, 2026 (rather than May, 2027 which I thought).

I guess its better than nothing. But I still feel scammed out of half of my $93 payment for 2 years of extended warranty. The ordeal has been so frustrating I will never again purchase another Acer computer from anywhere! And I encourage anyone who buys off Amazon to be very wary of the potential for this sort of re-seller scam.

They say that life gives you lessons. And I shall never forget this one.
