How to delete pre-installed Linux?

I have just purchased a new Acer Aspire V5-473G, and to my surprise found it was pre-loaded with Linux, which I want to delete and install my Windows 7. Problem is, when I start the notebook, Linux starts but only as far as the message "[root@localhost /]#" .... and expects me to enter something, but I have no idea what to enter, and what to do from there. Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Hi terryadamsbkk!

Have you tried accessing BIOS & changing the boot order to boot from the optical drive as the first option? This will allow you to install Windows 7.

...or enable boot menu in BIOS so you can choose what to boot from in future.

Hit F2 to get to BIOS. Make changes - boot order or enable boot menu, or both - then hit F10 to save and exit. If you enabled boot menu, hit F12 when you start the machine and a boot menu will pop up. There you can select your optical drive or whatever you have you Windows installer on.
