Win8 Recovery Media

I own an Acer S3-391, factory installed w/Win8. I attempted to create recovery media using new, empty, 16 GB USB drive. That proceedure failed unceremoniousy without a meaningful error message, just stating that the recovery media creation had failed.

Suspecting that I may need more that 16 GB, I purchased a new 32 GB USB drive. Now I see that when I attempt to create recovery media, the option to copy the recovery partition to the USB drive is greyed out.

How do I go about re-enabling copying the recovery partition to external media so I have a valid recovery resource?

Thanks,

Jim

    Good day

Please double check...Is it greyed out on both 16 and 32 gig flash drives?

"Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive." Is greyed out with either a 16GB or 32GB USB drive in attached. Both are recognized by the uility as present.

    Good day

I got the same problem few days ago. The only way  to sort it out was to backup my data and restore the machine to factory settings using recovery management and then the option to create factory backup was restored. If this option is also greyed out, you need to take the machine to Acer for them to reload the complete image of that machine properly.
