Acer Nitro KG242YE, no sound. Does my monitor have speakers?

Hello,

I bought a Acer monitor some time ago, and only just set it up. It has two HDMI ports and one display port. The box says that it has 2x2w internal speakers, so does the Acer website and amazon (where i bought it).

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use the internal speakers over HDMI, in windows 11 it shows up in the sound settings as KG242YE being connected, but still cannot hear anything. Does my monitor have speakers, or is there something in windows that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated.

There are lots of different KG242YE models, some with speakers, some without. Since your box says yours has them, we can ssume they are actually installed in yours. What do you have the volume set to in the on screen menu?

from the menu I cannot see any option for sound or audio. It only shows Picture, Color, Gaming, OSD, and System.

Then that specific model does not have speakers installed.
