If it works well on the HDD, try cloning the HDD to the SSD, then swapping them. You will need an external case to do that smoothly, so they can both be connected at one time. External cases aren't very expensive though, and can be useful even after you complete this process. Put the SSD in the case and connect it to the computer. Start the clone app you choose and use it to cone the existing HDD to the SSD, allowing it to only change the size of the system partition (C:). When complete, look at the SSD using Disk Management and compare it to the HDD. They should have the same partitions with only the one a different size. Shut down, take out the HDD and install the SSD, then turn it back on. You should be up and running with everything the same as you had it before, except much faster and with more room.

Here are some potential solutions that might help:

Wait for ChkDsk to complete: It may take a couple of hours, but given the time, it is known to complete in most cases.

Restart your PC & run Disk Cleanup, SFC, DISM: If ChkDsk does not complete, restart your computer by pressing the power button. Once you boot to the desktop, run Disk Cleanup utility to clear your junk files. Open an elevated CMD type /scannow and hit Enter to run the System File Checker. Once the scan is completed, restart your computer.

Disable Startup Apps: Right-click on the Start menu and select Task Manager > Startup apps > right-click on each app and change the status to Disabled.

Clean Boot: Press the Windows key and R > then type msconfig then press enter > click on Services tab > select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all > click on Apply then Ok

Update the Graphics Card: Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date.

Avoid Computer Overheat: Make sure your computer is not overheating, as this can cause performance issues.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, it may be worth considering a hardware issue. You might want to check your RAM, hard drive, or even your power supply. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, consider taking your PC to a professional.
