Three hours backup is normal for a new battery when you don't use the Battery Saver app and have the OLED screen brightness 100% while using the keyboard LED. Don't fall for the sales hype on flyers that quote 8 hours with the screen brightness lowered to 20%, no browsing and nothing running at the background. If you want more backup, disable the 80% battery charge limiter in AcerSense or Acer care, charge the battery to 100% and use Best Power Efficiency mode in Power & Battery settings, update BIOS with version 1.14 from 2024/09/27 and Update Windows with W11 23H2 to version 22631.4602 or W11 24H2. Also uninstalling all bloatware and 3rd-party browsers-virus checkers that run at the background 24/7 will help conserving battery backup, check how many apps are running at the background in Task Manager-Processes, if more than 80 uninstall the ones you don't use including Startup programs (disable those).

Nah, one "Full Charge Cycle" is only required if you replace the battery and after reinstalling Windows, not after updates. I don't know why this procedure is called "Calibration" nothing to do with the battery, just to register the full capacity of the battery with BIOS and Windows. This is done by Acer in the factory so no need to do it again with a new laptop.

It's called calibration because you are calibrating Windows. Not really doing anything to the battery itself, just telling Windows about how the battery performs, so it can more accurately guess as to remaining time before it gets too low.

When they do the benchmarks that end up saying stuff like "8 hours battery life" they are running under close to ideal conditions, very low screen brightness, very low radio power for WiFi, or turned off, etc..

Hi, 3 to 4 hours battery lifespan is normal for a new battery, when you use Best Power Efficiency and enable the Battery Saver in Windows "Power & Battery" settings you may even get 6 hours. If are using Acer Care Center with Battery Calibration, Battery Optimization and Charge limiting to 80% options, stop all that and uninstall Acer Care Center in Windows "Add or remove programs". You can check this forum on the bad effects these programs have for the battery and your system. Disable Hibernate and Fast Startup in Windows "Power Plan" and completely shut down the laptop during the night. I recommend leaving the USB-C charger connected 24/7 and the battery fully charged to 100% at all times. If you don't plan to use the laptop, disconnect everything from the laptop and electrical wall outlet for Safety, like any other electrical home appliance.

To improve battery performance, ensure you're using the "Balanced" power mode by going to Settings > System > Power & battery, and consider enabling "Battery saver" mode. Reducing screen brightness and closing unnecessary background apps can also help extend battery life. Make sure your laptop's drivers and BIOS are up to date, as updates can sometimes improve battery performance. Additionally, check the battery health in the BIOS or Acer Care Center to see if the battery needs to be replaced. If these steps don't help, contacting Acer support for further assistance is recommended. They can help diagnose any potential hardware issues.
