I am going insanely frustrated. I feel like i just threw my money to thrash bin. I won't buy anything from Acer again! This is a complete mess!!

My brand new 4070, 32gb Ram Predator laptop randomly lags while im surfing in web or doing simple tasks like opening folders, creating empty folders or when i open win11 settings or something. It lags and stutters like a PC from 2002.

This even happens when it is PLUGGED IN to battery and when it is on PERFORMANCE mode!

I demand from Acer to fix this problem, i think this has to be something about drivers and hardware. This can't be how these laptops are made, there must be a problem with mine. Because this sucks big time. I don't wanna believe a 32gb 2023 released laptop performs like this.

PLEASE. HELP ME.

Sometimes it works fast and FINE. Sometimes it is NOT.

I updated all my drivers including Win11, Intel and Nvidia.

Why is this happening? My pc is cold and there isn't any programs running in background.

Should i download the bios updated or other stuff from Acer's own site? I don't wanna mess with bios updates...

Your Predator Helios with the 13th or 14th Gen Intel cpu and an RTX4070 and 32GB DDR5 type ram should be flying and working perfectly and very quick. If your laptop is sluggish and slow and doesn't respond after doing the below, then take/send your laptop to Acer Tech Support under warranty (if it still has any?) in your country as the laptops mainboard or ram could be faulty as these laptops should not lag if they are new and updated fully and properly.

I don't know which exact model Predator Helios or Neo model laptop you have, but these laptops need to be setup properly when new and out of the box and you need to do the following:

    1. Update the bios and all firmware that is available for your laptop from Acer or Windows Update, as these 13th and 14th Gen Intel cpu's overheating faults have had some Acer updates and fixes through the bios. I'm using a Predator Helios Neo PHN16-71 that its last bios has got the update for the microcode that fixes all this, which is the version 0x35. you can check this for your laptop through CPUz > Mainboard > CPU Microcode.
    2. Make sure that your laptop is operating with Win-11 24H2 version and has all the latest updates to OS build 26100.2605.
    3. Install the NVidia GeForce Experience software as this software keeps your NVidia RTX4070 driver updated to its latest NVidia GeForce Game Ready Driver which the last Win-11 version should be 566.36 - WHQL and also has the ability to set the RTX4070 gpu to the best settings for over 1500 major games on the market if you play the supported games through this software.

Do all the above as this should make your Predator Helios perform at its best. Good luck and hope all this additionally helps out.
