    Try changing BIOS GPU setting to Auto. Then try NitroSense again.

    Look in Control Panel's System Protection app for an automatic restore point with a date stamp just before this happened. Also, did this happen after you tried to update the BIOS firmware?

    Any pop-up window in NitroSense on my AN16-42 is empty and cannot be closed. I cannot interact with the app in any meaningful way or even just switch between power modes and fan speeds, being stuck on "Balanced" which causes overheat when there is even moderate strain on the graphics card or the processor unit. No data is shown with regards to GPU/CPU temperatures and usage.

    So far the app seems like a waste of space, being so utterly broken and unusable.
    I've tried closing it in Task Manager and opening it again, tried deleting and reinstalling it from the link provided in this discussion, my antivirus is off, BIOS software is also the latest one possible, the app is run with admin rights and literally no other app is on aside from NitroSense itself. I have not modified my system or the device, nor have I installed any software alongside NitroSense for the purpose of diagnostics.

    Can the issue ultimately lie within the app itself and its compatibility with AN16-41/AN16-42 models? I registered the model, signed into my Acer account, but the only tab that was functional was the "Checkup" tab. Even then, seeing that none of the other tabs display any info or even function right, I don't trust the checkup tab whatsoever.

    This has been the case from the moment I bought this laptop from an official retailer in Austria, - app has not been working from literally day 0. It wouldn't even be an issue for me if the power mode switch button in the top left corner of the keyboard hadn't stopped working. If you know what might have caused that and help me fix it - then i don't care about NitroSense not working on my device. Have I pressed a secret key combination that disables the button on accident perhaps?

    Did the button unexpectedly stop working for no apparent reason?

    What BIOS version was originally installed as you received it from the official retailer in Austria?

    Where do I find this information?

    @PepechBD,

    Try Windows Performance Counter reset:

    1) Close the NitroSense app;

    2) Open a Command Prompt / Windows Terminal (Administrator mode);

    3) Type these commands (copy & paste):

    %SystemRoot%\System32\lodctr.exe /R
    %SystemRoot%\SysWow64\lodctr.exe /R
    winmgmt.exe /RESYNCPERF

    4) Restart your computer.

    Your responses suggest that you already changed the original factory installed BIOS version to the latest one possible. This usually should only be done to try to solve serious problems with the original factory version that the latest version claims to address in its description. Did the button stop working before or after changing the factory BIOS version?

    You know what did it for me? I downloaded a different Nitro Sense from the newer Nitro V 15, 16, 17… i forgot what model my Nitro Sense came from but it has all the settings and configuration laid out and working just fine. Try to find a 2025 release and see if it works for you. They just dont update their stuff for older models I guess.

    Try to find this version. I think it came from a Nitro V 16s or something. its about 600mb.

    The problem definitely started before the BIOS update. Brief chronology of this:
    - I bought the laptop in November 2024
    - NitroSense didn't work, but mode button was fine, so I used it
    - mode button stopped working so I went to the forums and did everything that was recommended and helped in resolving the NitroSense issue for some people, including BIOS update(it did nothing for my issue, niether the app, nor the button)
    - Then I posted on this forum and currently am in communication with you.

    I tried downloading the app from the link you provided and it's the same, unfortunately.

    Forget my last post! This actually fixed it! Thank you very much, eGomes!
    Both NitroSense and the mode button are now functioning perfectly!
    I typed the command in the Terminal:

    winmgmt.exe /RESYNCPERF

    and restarted my system.
