    Yes the 1TB Kingston SSD M.2 NVMe NV3 m(SNV3S/1000G) will work 100% as will a 2TB and a 4TB drive will work! This laptop has a 1x Gen 3 x4 lane slot and a 1x SATA 3 slot for a 2.5" drive:

Note: that the capacities in a windows operating system laptop is governed by what the bios format is, as this laptop has a UEFI type bios and its format is GUID (GPT) and this format has a max capacity limit of 8 petabytes (1 petabyte = 1000TB) which you will never ever reach😁and virtually all capacities will work with this laptop in windows and GUID (GPT) format, while in a windows with a bios that has a MBR/Legacy type bios format, the limit is a max of 2.2TB per drive, so be aware of these statistical limits. The Aspire A317-51 laptop has a boot M.2 SSD slot @ speed of a Gen 3 x4 lane type drive and an UEFI GUID (GPT) type format that will work with drives from 128GB to 4TB drives. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

The below drives are the Acer M.2 SSD drives capacities that Acer tested this laptop with, be aware that Acer does not test laptops will all the compatible size like the 2Tb and 4TB drives and the list below is the typical size that M.2 SSD drives were available to the mainstream as a guide, and does not typify the limit of the drives that the AS317-51 laptop can work with.
