I just got a new Acer ED270U Series 3 Monitor a few weeks ago and when I went to use my computer, and it randomly turns off for 2-3 seconds and then turns back on again. I have tried unplugging all the cables, changing the power plug and it still happens even if it's not plugged into my computer. Please help

  • Hi @Deesnuts is the connection via HDMI or DP?
Generally, what you are saying can be caused by an inadequate graphics driver or an incorrect screen resolution/refresh rate.
Which driver do you have installed, the one from Acer or the one from the graphics manufacturer?
What resolution and refresh rate do you have?

    Regards.

I don't know what drivers I have but I have the mo story at 1440p at 60hz and have tried multiple different resolutions and hzs also I'm using an hdmi.

  • Check the installed driver in the device manager.
What operating system do you have installed?
What is the model of your computer?

    Regards.

I'm using the latest Windows 11 on a acer aspire 3 a315 laptop

  • To know which is the correct driver you should have installed, you need to know the exact model, it should be something like this:
    Aspire A315-44P
You should have the driver from the computer manufacturer installed and not the one from the graphics manufacturer.
I don't think the problem is the monitor, in any case, that 1440x1080 resolution seems low to me, check if the computer and the monitor support a higher resolution.
There are three models of that monitor:

    Which one is yours?

    Regards.

Ok. Sorry for the confusion. I have the acer aspire a315-24p-r1xc. For the monitor, I is the ed270us3 model and the resolution is at 2560x1440 not 1440x1080. The monitor only supports up to 1440p btw and goes up to 144hz with hdmi

I found out what was wrong. I just had to clean the port a bit on my laptop. It didn't really have any dust in it but it fixed my problem. Thanks for your help anyway!

  • I'm glad to hear you've solved it, thanks for mentioning it.
    Regards.
