ED343CURV is too dark even with brightness maxed, How to fix it?
I can't make this display look good. I don't have the vocabulary required to describe it, so please see the attached images. Even when I max out the brightness settings (all 3 of them) everything looks too dark until I start turning up the contrast, which ruins other things like the ability to tell colors apart, or oversaturation(?)
I have 3 places to change settings. Windows, AMD Adrenalin software, and the monitor menus. Changing brightness seems to do a lot less for the brightness than changing contrast, which seems counterintuitive.
HDR is enabled in Windows and on the display. When I go to run the Windows Display Color Calibration tool, I get a warning saying I'm currently using a "wide-gamut color profile", and it will only create a profile with a conventional gamut.
I just want to make the new display look like the built-in one on the laptop. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Adding some info. This is connected via a Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, to a Dell G5S laptop. With or without HDR turned on, I can't get it nearly bright enough. I don't have a nit-o-meter or any way to measure its luminosity but it's about 1/3 as bright as any other monitor I've ever used, until I start jacking up the contrast and really screwing up the color palette.

@AnhEZ28 Yep, I changed it at the OSD, on my GPU, and in Windows. I played with gamma, contrast, color profiles, nothing. After talking with some IT people, it seems like I have a bad panel and will be returning it. I bought it refurb on eBay, so no harm done.

Yep, it sounds like you know now why it was on eBay as a "refurb". They were hoping you would live with the issue.
