While I was working on Illustrator, the laptop froze, I tried Ctrl+Alt+delete, but any change, the screen was staying still... I let it sit for a while and after some hours, still the same. So I pressed the power button to turn it off and turned it on again... it did turn on... and while I was entering my pin, I heard son noise around the left fan, it was a tickling noise, like a hard disk tickling, but I don't use hard disk, I only have SSD installed. And suddenly while the screen was charging it turned off, and since then it can't be turned on anymore. Like it's dead. No light when plugged in, nothing.

I tried to disconnect the battery from the motherboard and replug it, I dust it off, I tried to plug it while the battery is disconnected, still nothing…

Model: PT315-52-73WT

Some repairs that I did in the past, I changed one of the fan cause it was faulty, but it's been year... and 6 months ago I added an SSD.

Hi, have you replaced the battery yet after 5 years? Open the laptop again and disconnect the battery, try moving the fan blades with a brush or very soft rubber probe and listen carefully if you here any (clicking) noises. If not bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country or replace the battery first and try another power adapter.

Before you change the battery do a Hard Reset as it could be a frozen EC chip or a chipset chip or even bad ram, so do this for a Hard Reset below.

Open the back of the laptop, disconnect and take the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and shot its +&- pins to reset CMOS at the circled area in the caption below, use a metal screwdriver or metal tweezers.

Then take the ram out and leave the laptop like that for at least 1 hour, so that the laptop chips reset properly, afterwards reconnect everything and if you have 2x ram modules only fit one and alternate or if you have other ram then use that to see if its not the ram that is faulty. If all this does not boot your latop and ithe laptops still dead with no lights, then that is not a good sign, as and if you are lucky it could be just a capacitor that has shorted the main power rail and is stopping the laptop from booting.

But if its a mosfet that protect the cpu that has shorted and has allowed a high 19V full current into the cpu, then the mainboard need replacing as the cpu is fried and laptops cpu's can't be replaced. Best is to take your laptop to a technician and get then to analyze this problem for you. Good luck and hope things work out for you, as the Acer Triton model laptops aint cheap so are their parts as a new "Mainboard PT315-52 Intel Ci710750H HM470 N18PG62 4GB - Acer part #:NB.Q7D11.002" is like USD $1,129.22.

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I did try the hard reset, but unfortunately it didn't work. So I guess I have to take it to a technician. I do not have another power adapter to try either.

    Thanks a lot
