Hello everyone. I have a concern with the screen in my laptop (please see attached photo). The sides and corners of the screen are showing blue/purple when I turn it on or if the screen is in sleep mode. I haven't notice when it started but I think it is getting wider than before (only the 4 corners are showing the unusual color before). But when I'm using it, it looks fine and I'm not noticing it on the screen.

Anyone knows if this could be an issue with the hardware (LCD)? or software?

Update the monitor driver. If you still have the issue, it may be a hardware issue

    Hi aly0948,

    The Possible causes are:-

Faulty graphics card: If the issue is with the component responsible for processing visuals, it could be causing the distorted colors and lines.

Loose cable connection: A loose cable connecting the display panel to the motherboard can disrupt the signal, leading to visual artifacts.

Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers: Driver problems can sometimes cause display issues.

Software glitch: In rare cases, software glitches can temporarily affect the display.

Hardware damage: Physical damage to the display panel itself can also be a cause.

    Troubleshooting steps:-
Restart your computer: This might resolve a temporary software glitch.

Update your graphics drivers: Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer and download the latest drivers for your card.

Check the cable connections: Ensure all cables connecting the display panel to the motherboard are securely plugged in.

Connect to an external monitor: If you have one, try connecting your computer to an external monitor. If the issue persists, it's more likely a graphics card problem.

Run a hardware diagnostic tool: Some computer manufacturers offer built-in diagnostic tools that can test the hardware, including the display. Check your computer's documentation or the manufacturer's website for information on these tools.

Seek professional help: If none of the above steps work, it's best to consult a professional technician or contact the manufacturer for further assistance. They can diagnose the problem accurately and suggest the appropriate repair or replacement.

Additional notes:- Avoid physical stress: If your laptop screen has been dropped or exposed to physical stress, it's more likely to have internal hardware damage.
Observe the patterns: Does the issue worsen with specific applications or activities? This information can help pinpoint the cause.

Document everything: Taking pictures or videos of the distorted display can be helpful for diagnosis.
Remember, while some troubleshooting steps might resolve the issue, seeking professional help is often the best course of action.
