    Hi @jerryvarney

Please share the exact model number of your Acer Aspire laptop, which looks like A5xx-xxx-xx. In the meantime there are few activities listed below to check/diagnose and narrow down the issue.

Here are some things you can try if your Acer Aspire laptop's touchpad and keyboard light aren't working:

    • Restart your laptopA simple restart can fix many issues, including a non-working touchpad or keyboard.
    • Check for dirtMake sure your touchpad is free of dirt.
    • Update your driversOutdated or missing drivers can cause issues with your touchpad. You can update or reinstall your touchpad drivers in Device Manager.
    • Enable your touchpadOn newer Acer models, you can enable or disable your touchpad by pressing the F7 key. You can also press and hold the Fn key, then press F6 or F7 once.
    • Light up your keyboardTry pressing F10 or Fn+F10 to turn on your keyboard's backlight. If that doesn't work, try pressing just F10.
    • Hard reboot your laptopUnplug your laptop and detach the battery if your model allows. This can sometimes fix a keyboard that's not working.
    • Access the BIOS pageTurn off your laptop, then press and hold the F2 key while turning it back on. Once you're on the setup utility page, you can try tapping F9, then F10, and hitting enter without changing any options. Your laptop should restart on its own.
