w510 screen black (but windows button vibrates)

I have an Acer w510, no dock, just the tablet, and it has decided not to wake up at all. I can press the windows button, and it vibrates, but nothing shows on the screen. Holding down the power to reboot causes the windows button to stop working briefly, which leads me to believe it actually reboots. However, there still isn't anything on the screen. I have charged it, I have left it off the charger hoping the battery will die and then I can plug it in to recharge. Nothing works. It's been 3 days and no combo of charging/unplugging/rebooting, etc causes the screen to turn on. I am running the latest Windows 8.1 build.

EDIT: I meant to also note that when you look at the screen you can see that it's on, in that the way a black screen that is on looks different than a screen that is off.

If mine did that, I'd connect an external monitor to the HDMI output and see if anything displayed there.

I tried both the HDMI suggested above, and the BIOS boot sequence. No go.
