Fan running constantly on Acer 515 Chromebook Plus - and battery draining quickly

Hi Acer Community

I noticed yesterday that the battery life on my Acer 515 Chromebook plus was draining really quickly. This was a sudden change. Before then, I was getting hours out of a full battery. Now it's saying I have 1hr 28mins from 77% (it was 100% 25 minutes ago!)

The fan is constantly running. I've run a diagnostic test (attached) and the CPU is at 20% and the temperature is 62 degrees celsius, which I don't think is unusual.

Does anyone know why it's doing this and how to stop it?

Like I said, this happened very suddenly.

Please help. The device is less than a year old.

Thanks.

Maybe one of the CB515-2H models? You don't give us the actual model number in your post… Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. The battery report shows only about a 10% usage on the battery, so short life usually means you have an app that's doing something to use a lot more battery than normal, the fan running also points to something using a lot of CPU cycles.
