Spin SP 313-51N - Black screen after restarting for windows update

It will still turn on. I can hear the boot up noise, the keyboard lights up and the screen is visible when hooked up to a monitor with an HDMI cable. How do I fix this?

    Connect the laptop to an external monitor that you have so that you can use it and delete the last windows updates and see if the updates were the reason why the screen is blank and install the last graphics drivers. If that is not the problem, then it could be a screen backlight problem, that was caused by either a mainboard problem or an eDP cable problem and lastly a screen problem, as a 4-year-old laptops screens doesn't burn out unless its susceptible to those other issues.     With the external monitor connected, enter the BIOS and do a reset to defaults (F9), then save and exit (F10). When Microsoft updates the UEFI firmware via Windows Update it sometimes leaves you in a non-factory state that can show symptoms like this.
