Has anyone successfully updated the CPU in Nitro N50-110 from Ryzen 5 3500 to Ryzen 5 5600 etc processors.

Most B550 motherboards are compatible with Zen 3.

Does a Bios Update have to be requested to update the microcode ?

    Hi,

The lastest BIOS R01-A2 for Nitro N50-110 includes only AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.3A. I doubt and also do not believe that Acer will release new updates.

Just a suggestion to you, try the AMD 5000 sorties CPUs and see if the CPU works within the N50-1110s mobo and with the BIOS Version: R01-A2, if it does not work then upgrade the mobo to like the excellent ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (WI-FI) (ATX Form Factor-12  inch x 9.6  inch ( 30.5  cm x 24.4 cm ) that this mobo supports the AMD 5000 CPUs, btw I built a desktop around this mobo for a friend and its an excellent mobo that these days you can pick up for cheap and use all the components of the N50-110 desktop for a minimal upgrade cost.

In fact, the colleague's tip above would be right for you!

Acer in the past has been synonymous with reliability and quality.

Unfortunately today it has incompetent programmers and engineers, who are unable to launch BIOS update with AMD/AGESA code improvements and corrections made available a long time ago. Placing dubious and poor quality products on the market.

I will buy a 5600 processor and report the results.
